Up the Creek Music Festival was the very first festival I ever attended. I’d been in a long term relationship from the age of 18 and didn’t do ANYTHING without my boyfriend. It was actually pretty lame! But that’s hindsight for you! I’d been upset about something so my brother convinced me to go to Up the Creek with him and his (then) girlfriend (now) wife.
It was the first time I’d ever seen Hog Hoggidy Hog after hearing him play their music. I LOVED it! They had THE BEST farm kitchen where ladies made the most amazing sandwiches. It was also the first time I’d had green pepper on a sandwich LOL I still love to put it on sandwiches now! Up the Creek was a very small festival back in 2004 then but has grown to 3000 people these days. It’s also the only festival, to my understanding, that is band based only. No electronic music.
My first Up the Creek experience also introduced me to Corne and Twakkie. I still can’t stop saying, “Come on you guy!” thanks to those guys. Comedians still seem to support Up The Creek as Anne Hirsch (Anne Hirsch show/Foblo Bulletin) has made an official video for them.
